Next League Hires Sports Tech Veteran for Key Role

Allison Bassman joins Next League as its Director, People & Culture 

NEW YORK, NY - December 6, 2022 - Next League, led by a team of technology experts with decades of success in the sports industry, today announced the hire of Allison Bassman as its new Director, People & Culture. Prior to Next League, Allison spent almost two years at Penn Interactive, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Penn Entertainment (PENN), in a similar role.  

In this newly created role, Allison will be responsible for the management of the Human Resources department including recruitment and onboarding of new employees, ongoing employee engagement activities and all training and development efforts. Additionally, she will work closely with the Executive Management team to set and cultivate company culture across the growing, global organization. Allison will be part of the Management team and will report to Becki Civello, Next League’s Chief Operating Officer.

While at Penn Interactive, she was instrumental in setting up the company’s Human Resources support system, including its learning and development programs, performance and employee relations management; streamlined its recruitment and hiring efforts; built and implemented successful diversity, equity and inclusion strategies and established an award-winning culture. Prior to Penn Interactive, she spent time at Saxbys and KPMG, among others.

Allison received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and continues to reside in Philadelphia today with her husband and daughter.
