NEW YORK, NY - January 13, 2022 - Next League, launched last month by a team of digital technology experts with decades of success in the sports, media and entertainment industries, announced a corporate partnership today with Women in Sports Tech (WiST), a non-profit dedicated to driving transformative growth opportunities for women at all stages of their careers throughout the sports technology industry.

A technology services company providing thought leadership, product design, software and systems development and integration, and the maintenance and management of existing products and platforms, as well as new and emerging ones, Next League is driven by the combination of growth and innovation, coupled with making investments that have lasting social impact.

With a commitment to team, diversity and cause, Next League is proud to lean into its positioning as a talent and culture-driven organization. In celebration of its brand launch and commitment to social impact, Next League recently made a financial donation to WiST. These funds will directly support the WiST Fellows Program, offering fully paid summer internships for female undergrad and graduate students, enabling young women to gain meaningful work experience across the sports ecosystem.

“We are thrilled to be able to make this initial contribution and to announce our strategic partnership with Women in Sports Tech,” said Next League’s Co-Founder and CEO David Nugent. “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with WiST Board Chair Alysse Soll for over 15 years and have been incredibly impressed by the work and mission of this incredible organization. On behalf of Next League, we are excited to play a role in helping to #ChangeTheRatio.”

“We are so fortunate to have Next League on board as a partner,” said Marilou McFarlane, WiST Founder/CEO and former CMO of Mustard and President of STATSports North America. “We’ve seen explosive growth and interest in our programs since WiST’s inception from corporate partners like Next League. This is a testament to how companies aim to directly inspire and impact the careers of young women while working to change the ratio and improve the culture of their workforces.”

In 2021, WiST awarded 24 WiST Fellowship grants for summer internship projects for female undergraduate and graduate university students, representing an increase of 60% in the number of Fellows from the 2020 class. Applications for the 2022 WiST Fellowship class opened December 15 and run through January 30, 2022.

Nugent also announced all profits of his recently published book "Zero Sales", based on his career experience working in and managing commercial organizations, will go directly to WiST.

More information on Next League, and its positioning as part of a larger business announcement, will come in early 2022.
