International Women’s Day is celebrated today, March 8, all over the world. It is an opportunity for us all to reflect on the progress women have made while focusing on how much further there is still to go.

In recognition of the day, we asked our employees to share their thoughts on what the day means to them, women who inspired them and inspirational quotes they live by.

What does International Women's Day mean to you?

Tracy Holmgren, Sr. Executive Assistant / HR Administrator

International Women's Day is a reminder to find time with my daughter to talk about the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.  It's a time to remember the women who came before us and a chance to discuss the challenges we still face, including gender-based violence, unequal pay, limited access to education and healthcare, and underrepresentation in leadership roles.

Krishnan Ramachandran, Chief Financial Officer

Equality. Empowerment. Celebration. Justice.

Elida Ruiz, Office Manager

It is a day to celebrate the progress that the women have been made.  Also, it is a day to recognize the determined work that women do in every field.

Adam Marostica, Front End Developer

It serves as a reminder to acknowledge and honor women and the contributions they have made and continue make to our communities, to society, to the world. It is also an opportunity to ask myself if I am doing enough to ensure that the spaces I occupy are as welcoming and safe for women as they are for men.

Ben Goldstein, Sr. Director, Delivery

International Women's Day is an opportunity to celebrate the woman in our lives and workplaces. Days like this give us a chance to acknowledge the contributions of women in our lives, which is often overlooked or taken for granted.

Mayra Ortega, Sr. QA Analyst

Today is a reminder that the world was not the way it is when I came thanks to amazing humans who fought to make it better for me. I also recognize that there is a lot of work to do to build the world I want for my kids and future generations. A place where it doesn't matter who you are to be treated with equity.

Is there a woman in your life that has inspired you?

Brittany Marchand, Business Analyst

I would like to shout out my 3 amazing best friends that have been in my life for 20 years. We are an inseparable unit, yet all so wildly different, and they continue to inspire me everyday. I think it is the way they balance so many things in life that inspires me the most. From their homes, their families, some are raising kids, still kicking a** in their careers and also being that person that you can always go to for advice and comfort. I feel blessed that I get to go through life with them, as we continue to lift each other up every step of the way.

Stas Demchenko, Sr. Java Engineer

My mother who did her best to give me an excellent life start and education.

Do you have an inspirational quote that you embrace from a female leader?

Tatiana Nikiforova, Sr. Technical Support Engineer

"Watch your thoughts, for they will become actions. Watch your actions, for they'll become... habits." - Margaret Thatcher

Mike Grushin, Chief Technology Officer

"I manifest my will and push through any barriers to move forward. I don't give up easily." - Deepali Vyas

Becki Civello, Chief Operating Officer

"Power is not how bold you are or how much you say. It's about being true to yourself. Be the person you believe you are." - Bethenny Frankel
