During my career, I was fortunate to earn multiple accolades, including National Push Champion, National Start Record Holder, North American Cup Overall Champion, and the Randy Price Sportsmanship Award. I served as the Athlete Advisory Council representative and spent four years as a member of the USA Bobsled &amp; Skeleton Board of Directors. Throughout my career, I lived and trained at two U.S. Olympic &amp; Paralympic Training Centers, Lake Placid, New York and Colorado Springs, Colorado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I discovered skeleton after watching the sport at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, noting that many athletes shared my track and field background. At that time, I competed for Elon University as a long and triple jumper.&nbsp; At Elon, I was a 5-time school record holder, a 3-time conference champion, named the Southern Conference's MVP, NCAA qualifier, and was later inducted into the university\u2019s Athletic Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since retiring from competitive sport, I worked in athlete services at the U.S. Olympic &amp; Paralympic Committee before transitioning into operations\/sports technology at Next League for the last 3 years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given my background, I also volunteer in local student mentoring programs supporting athlete development.&nbsp; Additionally, I previously led the creation of Crossover for Change, a nonprofit organization that built sports facilities in Uganda, resulting in three completed facilities and expanded access to sport for more than 10,000 girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I currently reside in Telluride, Colorado, where I spend my weekends skiing - my enthusiasm for it far outpaces talent \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RACHEL RANE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"512\" data-id=\"1107\" src=\"https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-headshot.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1107\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-headshot.jpeg 512w, https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-headshot-300x300.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-headshot-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-headshot-12x12.jpeg 12w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"341\" data-id=\"1103\" src=\"https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1103\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-1.jpg 512w, https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-1-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"341\" data-id=\"1102\" src=\"https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1102\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-2-1.jpg 512w, https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-2-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nextleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/rachel-2-1-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I started coxing my freshman year of high school and was later recruited to the University of Texas, where I coxed the Varsity 8+ for three competitive seasons and won back-to-back NCAA team championships, including the first in program history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After my sophomore season, I made my first U23 national team and coxed the U.S. Women\u2019s 8+ to gold at the U23 World Championships in Italy. Post-graduation, I moved into the senior team pipeline and this fall coxed the U.S. Men\u2019s 8+ to a bronze medal at the World Championships in China, the first medal for that boat since 2017. Learning a new sport in my early 20s helped me adapt in the career field more than I realized!
